Soundwalk Collective With Patti Smith Announce London Royal Festival Hall Show For February

Soundwalk Collective with Patti Smith have announced a one-off London show early next year.

The special performance at the Royal Festival Hall on February 4 will mark the first in a series of concerts to celebrate the 30th Anniversary of Bella Union and will see Soundwalk Collective and Smith perform their collaborative project 'Correspondences' in full. 

Released across two EPs, 'Vol. I' and 'Vol. II', released in May 2024 and March 2025, respectively, the ambitous 'Correspondences' project began more than 10 years ago, helmed by Soundwalk Collective founder, Stephen Craneanscki, who gathers "field recordings" of previous media texts, such as films and poetry, as well as the natural world from travelling through Europe from Rome to Russia. Smith then responds to these recordings with her own improvised spoken-word poetry, creating a mix of sound and words based on places and stories from around the world.

Ahead of the new show, Smith will play a series of US shows this month and next. Tickets for the new London performance go on general sale at 10am on Friday (September 25), while her other dates are on sale now.

She released her most recent studio album, 'Peradam', a collaborative LP with Soundwalk Collective, in 2020. Since then, she's put out a number of live records. Last October, she issued a 50th anniversary edition of her seminal debut album, 'Horses'.
