Richard Ashcroft Reveals New Album Working Title

One of British music’s finest voices, Richard Ashcroft, has announced that ‘Redemption’ will be the working title for his new album.

Although his reputation has previously fallen on rocky territory, Richard Ashcroft is no doubt a British indie icon. From his days with The Verve through to his work with UNKLE and his solo career, the singer can certainly raise a few Goosebumps with that voice. Matching this with his talent on guitar and his unstoppable self-belief, Ashcroft is currently working on a brand new album. Having reunited in 2008 with The Verve for their album ‘Fourth’, the star is now set to venture out on his own.

The singer has previously been reported to have been working with American producer No ID, who has worked with the likes of Jay-Z, producing 2009’s hit single’s ‘Run This Town’ and ‘DOA (Death Of Autotune)’. Mixed by a long time collaborator Chris Potter, it’s not the first time Ashcroft has worked in the realm of hip-hop. Not too long ago the indie star’s vocals matched DJ Shadow’s beats in UNKLE’s ‘Psyence Fiction’.

Now No ID has announced that Richard Ashcroft’s new album has the working title of ‘Redemption’ and claimed to NME that the singer has formed a new group to appear on the album. The band has been named the ‘United Nations Of Sound’, but as yet it is not known who is set to appear in the line up.

Due for a March release, Richard Ashcroft has already confirmed that one of his new tracks will feature in a forthcoming film about s*x-trafficking.

Richard Ashcroft is scheduled to release his new album in March.
