With combined sales of nearly 10 million from her first three albums ‘Call Off The Search’, ‘Piece By Piece’ and ‘Pictures’, the Georgian-born star will entertain fans at Thetford Forest in Suffolk on July 10th.

The Forestry Commission Live Music tour, which involves bands performing in beautiful woodland locations around the UK, is an initiative that takes place every summer in seven forests around the country. Clearings in amongst thick woodland are temporarily transformed into a concert arena for music fans.

The 25-year-old has been regarded as one of the greatest musical success stories of the last decade and 2009 has been a busy year for the star who has been hard at work writing songs for her fourth studio album. Teaming up with Guy Chambers, famed for his work with Robbie Williams’ Angels and Millennium tracks, Melua is currently in the studio putting the finishing touches to the record with help from producer-guru William Orbit

Whilst working with Melua, Orbit has been providing a running a commentary of the studio sessions on Twitter and Facebook, saying: “This is shaping up to be one of the finest things I've ever been involved with. I am hearing what can only be described as magic.”

Katie Melua’s new album, which is still to be named, will be released in May later this year.

Tickets are available to buy from 9am on Friday 12th February.
