Ceremony have announced their long-awaited seventh album.
The California-based punk band will release 'Tell Me Your Dream' through Relapse Records on August 7, following 2019's 'In The Spirit World Now'. The album finds the five-piece reunited with producer John Reis, who worked on their 2015 LP 'The L-Shaped Man', and captures the band at their most expressive, expansive and timely, serving as a culmination of over two decades together.
"John sort of joined the band on this one,” said guitarist-keyboardist Anthony Anzaldo. "We could not respect him more as a guitarist, as a singer, as a songwriter. He understands what it’s like to be in every position. So we really gave him the keys."
On the trust the band has built over time, he continued: "We’re bound together like family. Our relationships are beyond the band. Ceremony is going to live no matter what. We’ve shifted into this dynamic where the choice isn’t ours anymore."
Alongside the announcement, Ceremony — completed by Ross Farrar, Andy Nelson, Justin Davis and Jake Casarotti — have shared a new single, Death Destruction Mayhem, a blast of raw, no-frills, punk-driven energy. It'll be joined on the album by their earlier track, Other Hells, released in April.
After performing at Coachella festival in California earlier this year, Ceremony will appear at Hellfest in Clisson, France later this week. They will follow that up with a newly announced North American tour between September 9 and November 20. Tickets go on general sale at 10am local time on Thursday (June 18).
Since their last album, Ceremony have also released 'In The Spirit World Now (Synthetic Remixes)' in 2020 and 'Live At The Hollywood Palladium' in February.
