Pixies Reunion Shows “Ain’t About the Art Anymore”

Friday, 19 February 2010 Written by Matt Hamm

Pixies’ frontman Black Francis has revealed that the group are interested in anything “that’s going to earn us a fair wage”.

In an interview with The Quietus, Francis made it clear that “we made art fucking 20 years ago. So forget the fucking goddamn art…now it’s time to talk about the money”. The US punk/indie rock band are about to go on a tour of Australia and New Zealand in March.

Francis added that he’d like to go back into the studio to work on some new material with the Pixies, but the prospect of anything happening wasn’t likely.

He concluded that talking to the press doesn't help, “Do I seem like I’ve said anything in the past different? The more I talk about it with guys like you the less likely it is to happen”.
