Due to demand, Pixies have added an extra Manchester show to the spring UK and Ireland leg of their 40th anniversary world tour.
The Boston alt-rock legends will play a second night at Aviva Studios on May 24, the day prior to their previously confirmed stop at the venue. Tickets for the new date go on general sale at 10am today (September 30).
That leg of the tour will also include a headline set at Bearded Theory festival in Derbyshire, as well as stops at London's Royal Albert Hall, York Barbican, Dunfermline's Alhambra Theatre, King John's Castle in Limerick and Dublin's 3Olympia Theatre, where it will conclude on June 2.
The European run will take place between June 30 and July 19, calling in Berlin, Leipzig, Frankfurt, Milan, Rotterdam, Enschede and Heerlen.
Ahead of the above gigs, the band have lined up shows in Japan in early November, the Australian and New Zealand leg of the tour throughout the rest of November, and shows in Hawaii on November 30 and December 1. Tickets for those dates are on sale now.
Over four decades, Pixies have put out 10 studio albums. Their debut, 'Come On Pilgrim', came out in 1987, and their latest LP is 2024's 'The Night The Zombies Came'.
