Pixies have announced a new world tour, Pixies 40.
The Boston alt-rock legends will mark four decades together with shows in the UK and Ireland from May 20 to June 2, including their first performance at London's Royal Albert Hall and a date at King John's Castle in Limerick for the Live At The Castle series.
The run will then travel through Europe between June 30 and July 19, with stops lined up in Berlin, Leipzig, Frankfurt, Milan, Rotterdam, Enschede and Heerlen. Tickets for all shows go on general sale at 10am local time on Friday (September 26).
40 years in, Pixies have released 10 studio albums. Their debut, 'Come On Pilgrim', came out in 1987, and their latest LP is last year's 'The Night The Zombies Came'.
Ahead of the new dates, they'll tour Australia and New Zealand this November, which will see the band perform two consecutive nights in each city. They also have dates coming up in Japan and Hawaii. Tickets are on sale now.
Former Pixies bassist, vocalist and co-writer Paz Lenchantin will release her debut solo album, 'Triste', on October 17 via her own Hideous Human Records label. She recently shared Novel, the second single from the record.
