Deep Blue Something are an indie rock band from Denton, Texas, best known for their 1995 hit single Breakfast At Tiffany's.
Formed in 1991, by brothers Todd and Toby Pipes, drummer John Kirtland and guitarist Clay Bergus. Bergus left the band before the band started recording their first album, '11th Song'. The band independently released the album in 1993. Kirk Tatom joined the band after the album's release.
In 1994, the band released their second album, 'Home' via an independent label named Brando Records. 'Home' was re-released a year later by major label Interscope Records. The accompanying single Breakfast at Tiffany's peaked at #5 on the Billboard Hot 100 and topped the charts in the United Kingdom, after hype surrounding the track grew throughout radio stations in America.
In 1995, the band began working on 'Byzantium', their thrid LP, but this was put on hold by Interscope, who eventually released in it 1998 but only in Japan. They later signed with Aezra Records, who put out a new self-titled album, in 2001. Shortly after the album's release, the band "drifted apart," and its members worked on separate projects for over a decade.
In 2014 Deep Blue Something teased that they were back together and working on a new project. an EP 'Locust House' was released in 2015.
In late 2018, the band announced more recording was taking place, and have now announced plans to tour the UK in March - as part of their first tour for twenty years. Catch them live by checking out the tour dates and concert ticket information below on Stereoboard.
