George Clinton is an American p-funk singer-songwriter, musician and producer from Plainfield, New Jersey, best known for his band’s Parliament and Funkadelic and has been induced into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
Starting his music career in 1955, after forming the doo wop group, The Parliaments, which later evolved into Parliament, the band released nine albums, between 1970-1980. During the same period, Clinton was also a member of Funkadelic, releasing a further 16 albums.
In the 1980s he launched his solo career, having released 20 albums, including his debut, ‘Computer Games’, in 1982, and his latest, ‘Live and Kickin’, in 2011.
He has headlined his own shows and tours across North America and Europe, alongside his band Parliament-Funkadelic, including a headline set at Wireless Festival in 2015.
