First launching in Melbourne in 2005, the event continued to grow and is now also held in Sydney, Brisbane, Adelaide, Melbourne and Perth, as well as Auckland, New Zealand. Festivals have also taken place in Singapore and the USA. In the past, the festival has hosted performances from the likes of Chvrches, Earl Sweatshirt, Foals, Florence & The Machine, Rex Orange County, FKA Twigs, Warpaint, Mac De Marco, Two Door Cinema Club, Alt-J, Lorde, King Krule, Beach House, DMAs, Jorja Smith, King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard, The xx, bbno$, Tame Impala, Feist, Denzel Curry and many more. Laneway Festival will return to Auckland, Gold Coast, Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth in February 2026, featuring headliner Chappell Roan, plus performances from Wet Leg, Pink Pantheress, Wolf Alice, The Dare, Geese and more.
