Nana Mouskouri is a Greek jazz pop and folk singer hailing from Chania, Crete. Born in 1934, she has travelled to all-four corners of the world as a working musician, performing to countless fans and on stages of all sizes.
Over the years she’s released a substantial amount of music too, with over 200 albums and singles in 10 different languages! She's pretty much accomplished all she can - it’s no wonder she retired in 2009 having sold an estimated 350 million units. Mouskouri released her 134th record, 'Forever Young', in February 2018, which features cover versions of songs by artists including Bob Dylan, Leonard Cohen, Paul McCartney and John Lennon, and Udo Lindberg. She still occasional performs live though, and will play London's Royal Festival Hall in October 2018. An amazing voice and wonderful human being
Victoria Royal Theater on November 30 -0001
I was fortunate to see Nana at the Royal Theater, Victoria, B C. a couple of years ago.
The last time I had been to her concert was in the 1970's, Queen Elizabeth Theater. I couldn't believe my ears at her still amazing voice. Nana took the time to introduce her band which she is very proud of. Also, she sat and talked to the audience and it was as if I was sitting in her home chatting. So much detail and kindness. Nana, I want to thank you for such a wonderful performance. You have the singing voice of a goddess.
