Oi Va Voi, (Yiddish for Oh, Dear God) is a British band formed in 2000. Six young Londoners with varied influences joined together with a common aim: To reinvigorate the sounds of their Eastern European and Jewish roots.
They self-released their first album, 'Digital Folklore', which has since become a collector's item. In 2002 they were awarded the BBC Radio 2 World Music Awards on the strength of their live performances.
Their debut commercial album, 2003's 'Laughter Through Tears', fused modern dance music, singer-songwriter sensitivity and their Jewish cultural heritage with global rhythms drawn from Eastern Europe, the Mediterranean and beyond. Adding KT Tunstall into the mix on vocals, the band were well on their way.
They went on to release a self-titled album in 2007, 'Travelling The Face Of The Globe' in 2009, and two new singles Vanished World and Big Brother in 2018.
Oi Va Voi have toured across the UK, but also in countries as wide as Israel, Turkey and Russia. Now, they're set to headline Islington's Assembly Hall in November. Catch them live by checking out the tour dates and concert ticket information below on Stereoboard.
