Sarah Harding was an English singer-songwriter, model, and dancer from Ascot, Berkshire.
Born in 1981, she is most famous for her time in Girls Aloud, the girlband that she formed alongside Cheryl Tweedy, Nadine Coyle, Nicola Roberts and Kimberley Walsh after winning the ITV series Popstars: The Rivals in 2002. She sold millions of records, achieving twenty consecutive top ten singles, six certified-platinum studio albums and five BRIT Award nominations. Girls Aloud went on a three year hiatus in 2009, before briefly reuniting to celebrate their tenth anniversary and splitting shortly after. In this time, she embarked on a solo career, juggling music with TV and film roles in productions such as Bad Day, Freefall, Run for Your Wife, St. Trinian's 2: The Legend of Fritton's Gold and Coronation Street, as well as winning series 20 of Celebrity Big Brother in 2017. She dropped her debut solo EP 'Threads' in 2015. In 2020, she announced her diagnosis with breast cancer that had spread to other parts of her body. Sarah Harding died on September 5, 2021 at the age of 39, leaving behind a legacy from a truly impactful and incredible career that helped put girlbands back on the map.
