Steve Harley is an English singer-songwriter and musician from Deptford, London.
Starting his career in 1972, as a member of Cockney Rebel, the band released five albums; ‘The Human Menagerie’ in 1973, ‘The Psychomodo’ in 1974, and ‘The Best Years of Our Lives’ in 1975, which featured the #1 single Make Me Smile (Come Up and See Me). ‘Timeless Flight’ and ’Love's a Prima Donna’ were both released in 1976, before the band split in 1977. Harley released his debut solo album, ‘Hobo with a Grin’ in 1978. ‘The Candidate’ followed in 1979, ‘Yes You Can’ in 1992, and ‘Poetic Justice’ in 1992. Cockney Rebel reformed in 1998 and the band released a new album, ‘The Quality of Mercy’ in 2005. His latest solo album, ‘Uncovered’, came out in February 2020. Steve Harley will head out on an acoustic UK tour in spring 2021, and will play rescheduled UK shows with Cockney Rebel in autumn 2021.
