This major London revival is directed by multiple Tony and Olivier Award winner Marianne Elliott (Company, War Horse, The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time) with design by Tom Scutt (Cabaret) Jonathan Bailey (Wicked, Jurassic Park, Company) takes on the role of visionary artist Georges Seurat, alongside Ariana Grande (Wicked) as his lover and muse, Dot. Sondheim and Lapine’s masterpiece follows painter Georges Seurat in the months leading up to the completion of his most famous work, A Sunday Afternoon on the Island of La Grande Jatte. Consumed by his need to “finish the hat,” Seurat alienates the Parisian bourgeoisie, distances himself from his fellow artists, and neglects his lover Dot—unaware that the cost of his artistic obsession will echo across generations, reverberating more than a century into the future.
