The Chicks tour dates and tickets
The Chicks (formerly known as the Dixie Chicks) are an American country-pop and rock outfit hailing from Dallas, Texas. Formed in 1989, the band currently consists of frontwoman Natalie Maines alongside two of its founding members, multi-instrumentalists Emily Robison and Martie Maguire.

Their debut album, 'Thank Heavens for Dale Evans' hit shelves in 1990, which was followed by 1992's 'Little Ol' Cowgirl' and 'Shouldn't a Told You That' in 1993. They began to find great commercial success following the release of their fourth full-length LP, 'Wide Open Spaces', which spawned the hit singles There's Your Trouble and Wide Open Spaces.

They progressed to a contemporary sound and gained a broader appeal, dropping their fifth studio album, 'Fly', to critical acclaim in 1999. The LP topped the Billboard 200 in the US and went on to be certified 11x platinum, as well as achieving a Silver certification in the UK.

Since then, they have released a further two albums and have established themselves as one of the world’s most popular country groups. They are also widely known for receiving a bit of a backlash in their home-country after they spoke out against the Iraq war in 2003. Despite this, the Chicks have sold over 30 million records worldwide to date, and picked-up an incredible 13 Grammy Awards, among other accolades.

The group put out their first full-length release in 14 years, 'Gaslighter', in July 2020.

Photo: Robin Harper The Chicks’ decision to ditch the ‘Dixie’ from their name due to the word’s historic association with the Confederate south is a change that, by distancing the band from the past and moving forward with a more enlightened, modern outlook, unwittingly reflects both the musical and lyrical content of their first new record in 14 years.
