The Church is an Australian alternative/psychedelic rock outfit hailing from Sydney, New South Wales. Formed in 1980, the band currently consists of frontman Steve Kilbey, guitarists Peter Koppes and Ian Haug, and drummer Tim Powles.
Releasing their first LP, 'Of Skins and Heart', in 1981, The Church would go on to become a popular band in their homecountry, and soon started making an impact internationally too. They continue to perform and record new music to this day, putting out their latest album - 'Further/Deeper' - in October 2014. 2017 saw them return with new LP, 'Man Woman Life Death Infinity', which they supported with a tour of their home country Australia. The Church celebrated the 30th anniversary of 'Starfish' with a tour of Australia and New Zealand in 2018, and continue with more dates in the UK and US throughout 2019.
