Train are an American pop rock band from San Francisco, California, consisting of Pat Monahan, Jimmy Stafford, Jerry Becker, Hector Maldonado, Drew Shoals, Nikita Houston and Sakai Smith.
Formed in 1994, the band have released 10 albums, including their eponymous debut album in 1998, ‘Drops of Jupiter’, released in 2001, which hit #6 in the Billboard Hot 200, and contained the title track, which won the Grammy Award for Best Rock Song and reached #5 in the Billboard Hot 100. The band released their latest album, ‘A Girl, A Bottle, A Boat’, on January 27, 2017.
The band have headlined their own shows and tours across North America, the UK and the rest of Europe, and have performed at festivals such as V.
Train played London’s Islington Assembly Hall in January 2017 in support of ‘A Girl, A Bottle, A Boat’, before heading back across North America for another tour. They returned to the UK for more shows in October as part of their Play That Song Tour, and also performed in Australia too.
