Voivod is a Canadian heavy metal band from Jonquière, Quebec, featuring founding members Michel 'Away' Langevin and Denis 'Snake' Bélanger, alongside Daniel 'Chewy' Mongrain and latest recruit, Dominique 'Rocky' Laroche.

Formed in 1982, the band signed to Metal Blade Records and released their debut album, ‘War and Pain’, in 1984. They moved to Noise Records for their second release, ‘Rrröööaaarrr’, which came out in 1985 and stayed with the label for several albums, eventually moving to MCA Records for their fifth album, ‘Nothingface’ in 1989.

Denis 'Snake' Bélanger temporarily left the band in 1994, but he returned for the band’s self-titled thirteenth album. The band released their sixteenth album, ‘Target Earth’, in 2013 via Century Media Records, and 'The Wake' arrived five years later in September 2018.

Voivod celebrated their 35th anniversary, as well as their new album, with a UK and European tour in 2018, and are next set to hit Australia for shows in January 2019.
