Black Deer Festival is a festival that first took place in 2018, celebrating all things Americana, country, blues and roots.
The inaugural year took place at the stunning surroundings of Eridge Park on the Kent,/East Sussex border - Britain's oldest deer park, located just 50 minutes outside of London.
The festival, alongside its fantastic line-up of the hottest artists in the genre, will feature an array or authentic americana-style meats, smokey whiskeys, bespoke custom bike showcases and even storytellings from cultural pioneers. Black Deer is a family friendly festival encouragin guests of all ages to immerse themselves in the wonderful culture of Americana.
It's not all about the fans however. Black Deer have teamed up with Supajam Education in Music and Media (SEMM), a multi-award winning educational provider for disadvantaged, vulnerable young people aged 16+ with special education needs and educational health care plans. Black Deer Festival has become the main focus of the 2017/2018 educational curriculum having given SEMM their own stage at the festival to manage, book and curate. The festival team will be supporting and working closely with these students all year.
Line-up wise, the sounds of this festival gets even better. Including artists wide ranging across the Americana, blues, roots, authentic country, folk and bluegrass genres, the headliners for 2018 included Iron and Wine and Passenger, while elsewhere on the bill were Jason Isbell & the 400 Unit, Ward Thomas, John Moreland, Eric Bibb, CC Smugglers, The Americans, Juanita Stein, William the Conqueror, Darren Eedens, the Slim Pickins, Sarah Darling, Jess and the Bandits, Robert Vincent and more!
