Buzzcocks are an English punk rock and new wave band from Bolton, consisting of founding member Pete Shelley on vocals, long-time guitar player Steve Diggle, alongside Danny Farrant and Chris Remington.
Formed in 1976 by singer Howard Devoto and guitarist Pete Shelley, who shared songwriting duties, they’re one of the most recognised and influential bands in the punk scene, as well as the Manchester music scene too. Known for songs such as Harmony in My Head, Ever Fallen in Love (With Someone You Shouldn’tve), Everybody's Happy Nowadays, and What Do I Get?.
The band released their debut EP, ‘Spiral Scratch’ in 1976, which led to them signing with United Artists Records in 1977 and releasing three LP’s: ‘Another Music in a Different Kitchen’, ‘Love Bites’, and ‘A Different Kind of Tension’, before splitting in 1981. The band first reformed in 1989, and released another six albums, their latest being ‘The Way’ in 2014.
