John Lydon, otherwise known by his stage name Johnny Rotten, is a singer and musician who is widely recognised as the lead singer of the late-1970s punk band, the Sex Pistols. Lydon is also known for his work with the post-rock group Public Image Ltd, which he found in 1978 following the initial disbandment of the Sex Pistols.

In his subsequent years, Lydon has worked as a solo artist, releasing his debut album, 'Psycho's Path', in 1997 and a compilation album titled 'The Best Of British £1 Notes' in 2005, which chronicled his solo work, alongside the material that he released with both the Sex Pistols and Public Image Ltd. He has also released two biographies, the first being 1994's Rotten, which was followed by Anger Is an Energy: My Life Uncensored in 2014.
