The Undertones are a Northern Irish new wave and punk rock band from Derry, best know for tracks such as DJ John Peel’s favourite song, Teenage Kicks, as well as Jimmy Jimmy, Here Comes the Summer and My Perfect Cousin.
Formed in 1975, the band was originally fronted by Feargal Sharkey, who was replaced by Paul McLoone in 1999. He’s joined by founding members John and Damian O’Neill on guitar, bassist Michael Bradley, and drummer Bill Doherty. Releasing a string of albums through the 1970s and early 1980s, the band found a lot of success in the UK, earning a Top 10 and two Top 20 records.
The band have headlined their own shows and tours across the world, and now The Undertones will celebrate the 40th anniversary of their eponymous debut album with a 2019 spring UK tour. Catch them live by checking out the tour dates and concert ticket information below on Stereoboard.
