The Undertones are a Northern Irish new wave and punk rock band from Derry, best know for tracks such as DJ John Peel’s favourite song, Teenage Kicks, as well as Jimmy Jimmy, Here Comes the Summer and My Perfect Cousin.
Formed in 1975, the band was originally fronted by Feargal Sharkey, who was replaced by Paul McLoone in 1999. He’s joined by founding members John and Damian O’Neill on guitar, bassist Michael Bradley, and drummer Bill Doherty. Releasing a string of albums through the 1970s and early 1980s, the band found a lot of success in the UK, earning a Top 10 and two Top 20 records.
The band have headlined their own shows and tours across the UK and Ireland, including their 40th anniversary tour in 2015, and are set to embark on a UK tour in November - but not before their first ever Australian tour in July.
