The Cribs Surprise Fans With New Single 'Housewife' Release

The Cribs have unexpectedly released their new single 'Housewife' this week, and have hinted at further surprise releases of new material.
The band who have just played a handful of shows in the US, including a main stage showing at this year's Lollapalooza, celebrated their label Wichita's tenth anniversary with a sweaty appearance at The Garage, wooed and wowed the crowds at Fuji Rock and are set to hit the main stage at the upcoming Reading / Leeds festivals later this month.
Recorded at Edwyn Collins' West Heath studio whilst working on new material, 'Housewife' will be a surprise to many and by the time you're reading this will have been aired on national radio and available on iTunes.
 'Housewife' is also to be made available as a one-sided etched 7" via Wichita Recordings.
Cribs guitarist Ryan Jarman told NME.com, "We have been doing some writing in downtime. We've written a bunch of stuff but in what capacity it's going to be used I can't really say."
He added: "We never ever look backwards. We always move forward. As soon as we finish a record I'm looking ahead to the next one because the only reason I write songs is I buzz off it. I never stop doing it because I want that feeling over and over again. It stops you getting lazy."NOTE FROM THE EDITOR
