Lady Gaga Named In List Of World’s Most Powerful Women

Lady Gaga has been announced as one of the most powerful women in the world on this year’s Forbes list.
The list has traditionally been based on wealth and social standing as primary factors, but this year takes ‘creative influence’ into account for the first time. The broad term includes the use of internet and social networking, which may go a long way to explain why Gaga placed highly on the list: The singer has over six million followers on twitter and nineteen million fans on facebook.
Lady Gaga was placed at No. 7, and is the only the second inclusion from the world of media after Operah Winfrey. The eccentric singer is reported to have earned $62 million in the past year and according to Forbes, "single-handedly reinvigorated pop music and pop culture."
Lady Gaga was even placed above the Queen (the only British national to make the list), who placed 41st , despite addressing the UN earlier this year for the first time since 1957.
