Fresh out of the studio comes ‘Doncamatic’, a brand spanking new track from Gorillaz featuring Daley. Check out the video for the new track below.
Recorded recently, Gorillaz were so excited about this stunning new cut, they wanted to unleash it onto the world as soon as humanly possible! All bouncing beats, deep funk grooves and sumptuous soothing vocals (courtesy of hot new British talent Daley), this track just makes you want to move.
In case you're wondering, inspiration for the track and the title comes from The Donca Matic - the ground-breaking Japanese-designed drum machine which started the Korg Musical Instrument Company in 1963.
When asked about Daley's involvement with the new track, Gorillaz man Murdoc had this to say: "I actually found Daley washed up on Plastic Beach - covered in oil and singing to a seagull...or was it an albatross? Anyway, I recognise golden pipes when I hear em' so I popped a bag over his head, hosed the boy down and chucked him in the studio with Noodle and her 8-track. I left them to it while I stepped outside for a Lucky Lung or three, and when I popped back in this is what they’d come up with! Am I a genius or WHAT?!?”
Gorillaz are currently on tour in the UK and play the O2 tonight before playing Birmingham (17th) and Brighton (18th). The Gorillaz army then travels to Europe before heading off to Australia and New Zealand.
