Multi-award winning Leicestershire four-piece, Kasabian, have been confirmed as the third and final headliner for next year's Isle of Wight Festival.
The chart-topping group will be the Sunday night headline performance, a slot that has been previously taken by the the likes of Sir Paul McCartney, Coldplay, David Bowie and the Rolling Stones.
Isle of Wight Festival will be celebrating it's tenth year in 2011 and event organisers have been releasing band names for the bill each day this week. Speaking about confirming Kasabian as the festival-closer, John Giddings, festival promoter, had this to say. "We wanted the kings of rock 'n' roll every night for our 10th birthday and the choices were obvious. Kasabian have reignited UK rock music and taken the mantle - long may they reign. It will be a riotous crowd-pleasing end to the weekend and I think that Jimi Hendrix would approve of our choices."
Kasabian join fellow 2011 festival headliners Kings of Leon and Foo Fighters who were confirmed earlier this week.
Tickets For Isle Of Wight Festival 2011 are onsale from 9am on Friday 19th November.
