Saxon Reveal 2011 UK Tour Dates & Tickets

One of rock's biggest heavyweights Saxon have announced a seven-date UK tour for April 2011.

A leader of the 80's new wave of British heavy metal, Saxon scored considerable chart success from hit singles such as '747 (Stangers In The Night)' and '...And he Bands Played On'. Now, nearly 35 years since their formation, Saxon are still rocking hard with a new studio album tentaively due for release in March 2011.

Saxon recently released a six-hour- long special edition doumentary titled 'Heavy Metal Thunder – The Movie'. The feature length film contained two classic Saxon concerts as well as a series of (often very funny) mini-clips of the band on tour. The warts-and-all story tells us of the successes, excesses, heartaches and earaches the band have endured over their 30 years with contirbutions from rock royalty such as Lemmy, “Fast” Eddie Clarke, Lars Ulrich, Harvey Goldsmith and more.

The documentary, which was funded by Saxon's legion of fans, also includes archive material of Saxon performing on Motorhead's 1979 'Bomber' tour as well as recording sessions and interviews from their 'Crusader' and 'Innocence is no Excuse' albums.

With a new studio album expected in March 2011, Saxon announce new UK shows to coincide with the release. Full details of the tour are listed below.
