Foo Fighters to headline T In The Park Festival

American rockers Foo Fighters have been confirmed today as headliners for this year’s T In The Park festival. Dave Grohl’s band are set to play at the Scottish event in July next year.

Speaking about the band’s confirmation, festival organiser Geoff Ellis said: "Once again we are proud to bring one of the world's biggest and most influential rock bands to Balado.”

"As well as being a personal favourite and a band that T in the Park fans continually praise, Foo Fighters are one of the best festival headliners on the planet and I'm delighted we have them for T in the Park 2011." he continued.

The announcement will come as welcome news to fans of the band, who have been treated to a string of news and speculation in the last few months. Foo Fighters have recently confirmed two huge arena shows in Milton Keynes next year, as well as a headline appearance at next summer’s Isle Of Wight festival.

Foo Fighters have also been fuelling rumours that they will be releasing an new album early next summer. The band are currently in the studio, working with producer Butch Vig and former Nivana bassist Krist Kovoselic

T In The Park takes place on July 8th-10th next year in Balado. Foo Fighters are the only band on the line-up announced so far. A limited amount of tickets go on sale at 9am tomorrow (December 3rd).
