Cliff Richard Tries His Hand At Rap

Pop veteran Sir Cliff Richard has hinted at a change in musical direction, confessing that he might be trying his hand at rap on his upcoming release. The singer admitted that he will be including a hip-hop twist on his latest album, which he is currently recording with Motown producer Lamont Dozier.

Speaking to The Sun, the 70-year-old said: "Don't be shocked if there is a rap or two on the record. If we can finish this, I will have died and gone to heaven, it's a dream come true for me. I have tried to make some changes in the recent past, particularly since the record industry seems to have taken a nosedive. Artists now have to think of new things to present to the public."

Richard went on to discuss his dream collaboration, stating that he would be keen to work with Lady Gaga, Adele or ‘X Factor’ winner Leona Lewis. He said: "I wouldn't mind singing with Lady Gaga but she can't wear any of those hats."

“Adele and Leona Lewis are both incredible, fantastic voices but only time will tell. My gripe is that often with these really fine singers something goes wrong through no fault of their own and then they disappear. I hope Adele can hold her own because she sounds fantastic."

A release date for the follow-up to his 2010 release ‘Bold As Brass’ is yet to be confirmed.
