Beyoncé Discusses '4’ Album Leak

Thursday, 09 June 2011 Written by James Conlon

R&B star Beyoncé has discussed the online leak of her upcoming album ‘4’, claiming that although the leak is “not what [she] wanted” she is still pleased to see fans responding positively to the new material.

The album leaked onto torrent sharing websites yesterday (June 8th), almost three weeks ahead of its formal release date. Upon hearing about the leak, the ‘Run The World (Girls)’ singer took to her official Facebook page almost immediately to address her fans.

Speaking on the social networking site, she said: "My music was leaked and while this is not how I wanted to present my new songs, I appreciate the positive response from my fans. When I record music I always think about my fans singing every note and dancing to every beat."

She continued: "I make music to make people happy and I appreciate that everyone has been so anxious to hear my new songs."

As previously reported by Stereoboard, a track from the album entitled ‘Party’ leaked online several hours before the full-length release. You can listen to the track (which features Kanye West and OutKast’s Andre 3000) below:
