Lil Wayne Samples Adele In ‘Sorry 4 The Wait’ – Listen Now

Thursday, 14 July 2011 Written by James Conlon

Lil Wayne has sampled Adele’s hugely successful track ‘Rolling In The Deep’ in a new song entitled ‘Sorry 4 The Wait’. The US rapper released a free mixtape this week in an attempt to calm fans who have been forced to wait as his upcoming LP ‘Tha Carter IV’ was delayed for a third time recently.

During the track, which sees Wayne rapping over Adele’s instrumentals, the rapper also confirms an official release date for his new LP, saying: "Sorry for the wait, man / Album is coming August 29." The album has been delayed on previous occasions due to Wayne’s claims that he is a “perfectionist”.

The song features Wayne rapping about the oh-so-shocking themes of ‘bitches’ and drugs, dragging hip-hop back one cliché at a time. The mixtape will be followed by ‘How To Love’, a song which Lil Wayne was inspired by Tupac.

Meanwhile, Lil Wayne has recently stated that he may retire after the promotion of his new album. In contradiction, the rapper also said that he aims to follow in the footsteps of Shania Twain and Elton John in earning his own Las Vegas residency one day.
