Following the recent announcement of their forthcoming album ‘Junk of the Heart’ and its ensuing tour, Brighton’s The Kooks have confirmed that the first single to be taken from the album will be called ‘Is It Me?’. The new single will be released on 5th September, a week ahead of the album’s release on 12th September – listen to ‘Is It Me?’ below. As previously confirmed by Stereoboard, The Kooks will be following ‘Junk of the Heart’ with a full UK tour in October, culminating with a show at London’s Brixton O2 Academy – see below for all dates and tickets.
The Kooks have previously had Top 10 singles with ‘Naïve’, ‘She Moves In Her Own Way’ and ‘Always Where I Need To Be’. ‘Junk of the Heart’ is produced by Tony Hoffer, who worked with The Kooks on their previous two albums - their 2006 debut ‘Inside In/Inside Out’ and 2008’s ‘Konk’. Recently, Hoffer has also been working on the forthcoming solo album from Jon Fratelli called ‘Psycho Jukebox’.
Speaking about ‘Junk of the Heart’, Kooks frontman Luke Pritchard said: “It’s upbeat - an album to play in the sun. What we really wanted to do was build a proper, full album. Something you can listen to from front to back. We’re an album band and this is a journey you come on with us.”
