Introducing... Fearless Vampire Killers

Fearless Vampire Killers are a London based death-pop band who’ve just released their second E.P – and a band you can expect to hear more of in the coming future. In fact, if you’re a Kerrang! reader, you’ve probably been hearing about them for the past five weeks. So who are they?

Named after the film by Roman Polanski, Fearless Vampire Killers take many of their influences from the culture of their youth. Growing up together in Waveny Valley they shared the same misfit experiences that lead them - and countless peers of their generation - to escape the reality of their adolescence and retreat into the sanctuary of graphic novels, music and film.

Unsurprisingly, punk rock has been a major factor in the band's musical heritage but the effect of their environment has also lead them to embrace their pop sensibilities which see Fearless Vampire Killers marry gentle melodic breakdowns to raw, overdriven grind.

The band are a broad mixture of sound and song, ranging from American post-hardcore acts like Protest the Hero, Weezer and (clearly notable in their dynamic vocal harmonies) the Beach Boys, to eclectic British bands such as Adam and the Ants, Queen and Muse. Their second EP, The Blood Never Dries, is testament to this mêlée of influences. Mixed at Outhouse studios by James Billinge and John Mitchell (Enter Shikari; Your Demise; Funeral for a Friend) the EP was released on August 22nd – so go and check it out!

Buyers of the E.P will also receive a brilliant e-book written by the band’s own vocalist Laurence Beveridge. The novelette "Ruple & Evelyn" expands on the fantasy world narrated in the lyrics of the EP and offers readers an opportunity to further understand the world of Fearless Vampire Killers.
