Coldplay's 'Mylo Xyloto' Knocks Adele Off The Pre-Order Charts

Coldplay have managed the unthinkable – they’ve broken a record set by Adele’s hugely successful, 10x platinum album ‘21’ for the most pre-ordered album this year.
Their fifth studio album ‘Mylo Xyloto’ hits shelves on October 24th, but fans are so eager to make sure they get their hands on the record, that they’ve pre-ordered thousands upon thousands of copies of it. What makes the achievement more remarkable is that that they’ve not released an album for three years – so fans must have been foaming at the mouth waiting for Christ Martin and co’s next instalment of Coldplay tunes.
Obviously pleased with sales is Paul Firth, Amazon’s head of music sales. He spoke of the demand for Coldplay’s new LP, saying they’d come ‘back with a bang.’
“Despite a gap of three years since their last album, Coldplay are back with a bang,” Firth revealed. “2011 has been Adele's year, but pre-orders of Mylo Xyloto have pushed Chris Martin's band to the top of Amazon.co.uk's music chart even before release, keeping recent releases from Noel Gallagher and Matt Cardle off the top spot.”
Coldplay have a small number of UK dates approaching, including a gig in Manchester for Children in Need where they’ll appear alongside Lady Gaga, Michael Buble and many more. If you want tickets to see Coldplay this winter, check the dates and details below.
