Cardiff Rock Club Fuel To Celebrate Opening Night At Brand New Venue This Weekend

Cardiff's biggest rock club Fuel has announced it's move to a brand new and improved venue this weekend. Set to return this coming Saturday, November 12th, Fuel are planning a launch night of epic proportions and lashings of the best rock and metal music Cardiff can offer.

If you’ve been to a rock or metal gig in South Wales or the West Country recently, there’s every chance you’ve seen the famous ‘FUEL’ emblazoned t-shirts, carrying the message of ‘100% Pure Welsh Metal’ on the reverse. If so, you’ve come across some of the ‘Fuelers’ who attend Cardiff’s largest Rock night, Fuel.

After starting out in a basement club in the Riverside area of Cardiff, Fuel’s popularity rose quickly and forced itself into a bigger city centre location at Pure night club, situated just off Westgate Street. A new era begins this weekend as Fuel throws it's doors open at brand new venue Solo Bar.

This Saturday, November 12th, you can join the fun at Fuel Rock Club and help celebrate their opening night at it's new home of Solo Bar in Womanby Street, Cardiff city centre. Everyone’s invited to the party which kicks off at 9.00pm!

Over the years Fuel has seen visits by members of Motorhead including drummer Mikkey Dee, Sepultra, The Fuel Girls, Napalm Death, Dirty Sanchez, Atreyu, Revoker, Hed(PE), Funeral For A Friend and Katatonia. Local band Tigertailz even used the club as the venue for a live album this year - ‘Besrerk Live: Burnin’ Fuel’.

Now progressing to an improved venue, visitors can expect the usual unmatched Fuel atmosphere, along with the best Rock and Metal played over a beast of a sound system! The new venue features a full dance-floor, two bars, projection screens and top-notch TV screens which look set to display videos as well as the club's new and exclusive Fuel Rock TV. You can of course expect some rather special drink offers too!

A few weeks prior to the move, Fuel marked it's 5th birthday with a huge celebration party. Rob Toogood, Fuel founder and DJ told Stereoboard about some of the most memorable moments of the club's half decade.

"My best moments are drinking with Sepultra until 4am and meeting the drummer from KISS, Eric Singer. The worst moment was being 30 minutes away from having Lemmy at the club only to have him decide to go to a strip club instead! But the best thing about starting Fuel is all the great friends that I’ve met and never having to go to a gig alone again!"

Head down to Fuel's new venue at Solo Bar on Womanby Street, Cardiff, this Saturday 12th November for what is shaping up to be a landmark night for the club. Entry is £4 and doors open at 9pm, closing at 2pm. The club is strictly over 18’s.
