Download Festival To Announce Second Headline Act Tomorrow Evening - Friday 11th November

Download 2012 organisers have tonight confirmed Thrash metal icons Metallica are the first headline act booked for Download Festival 2012. It has just been confirmed that another headline band will be announced tomorrow, Friday 11th November.

The news that Metallica are to headline 2012's Donington bash broke shortly after 7.20pm (GMT) this evening, announced by the band's drummer Lars Ulrich who was a guest on Zane Lowe's BBC Radio One Evening Show. The headline set will see Metallica play their 1991 'Black Album' in it's entirety, marking the 20th anniversary of it's release.

This evening, following the Metallica announcement, Download Festival's Chief band booker Andy Copping revealed via his Twitter account that another headline act will be confirmed tomorrow evening at approximately 7.20pm (GMT).

“Glad you all seem to like the announcement tonight, it is truly special. You liked the twist huh? You will get another headliner tomorrow.”

What's even more exciting, for those unaware, Black Sabbath are holding a press conference in LA tomorrow, 11th November 2011, at 11:11am local time. Could the press conference be for THAT announcement Heavy Metal fans have been waiting oh so long for...the reunion of Black Sabbath's original line-up.

The possible comeback would involve the four original members of Sabbath, Tony Iommi, Ozzy Osbourne, Geezer Butler and Bill Ward, playing together once again. What's more, they could possibly be playing a headline show at Download Festival next year if Andy Copping reveals them as the second headliner tomorrow night.

Download Festival celebrates it's tenth year in 2012 so we're expecting an all-out huge party at Donington Racetrack from Wednesday 6th June to Tuesday 12th June 2012.

Check back to Stereoboard tomorrow for news on the second headline act confirmed for Download Festival 2012.
