Jamie Hartman of Ben’s Brother to Release New Single on Christmas Day

Sunday, 13 November 2011 Written by Rob Sleigh

Jamie Hartman of the London-based indie-pop group Ben’s Brother has announced that his debut solo single ‘Happy New Year’ will be released on Christmas Day. The single precedes the release of Jamie’s new album ‘III’, which is due out in February 2012.

‘III’ will be the first album that Jamie Hartman has released under his own name following the first two Ben’s Brother albums, 2007’s ‘Beta Male Fairytales’ and 2009’s ‘Battling Giants’. It is also his first release since moving to the US a year ago.

Speaking about the new album, Jamie said: “I moved out to this remote place, and just waited and waited until the inspiration came. This is the album I’ve always wanted to make. Totally honest and unafraid of what people might think. Being cut off from everything you know forces you to question everything. I had my 40 days and nights in the wilderness. ‘III’ is the result of that.”

Jamie Hartman has previously collaborated with the likes of Anastacia and Jason Mraz. In 2008, he was nominated for an Ivor Novello Award for the Ben’s Brother song ‘Let Me Out’. More recently, he has worked with Goo Goo Dolls and Jessica Sutta of the Pussycat Dolls.
