Soundgarden, Chase And Status, Biffy Clyro, You Me At Six & Tenacious D Confirmed For Download 2012

It's been a while since Download organisers revealed their headliners confirmed for 2012's festival. Now, just as the dust settles from the excitement caused by headliners The Prodigy, Metallica and the mighty Black Sabbath, a new batch of bands are confirmed.
Announcing the new bands shortly after 7.00pm (GMT) via Zane Lowe's Radio One Evening Show, Radio One Rock Show host Daniel P Carter revealed that Download will host the long-awaited return of Soundgarden, as well as performances from Chase And Status, Biffy Clyro, You Me At Six and Tenacious D. Nine more bands are expected to be announced after midnight (GMT) tonight, on Daniel P Carter's Radio One Rock Show.
Chase and Status will whip-up the crowd before The Prodigy on Friday 8th June, while Biffy Clyro will take to the stage supporting Metallica on the Main stage on Saturday 9th June. Soundgarden will be welcomed back to the UK's live stage supporting Black Sabbath on Sunday 10th June. Download Festival weekend ticket prices will remain the same as the prices for Download 2011 until midday Monday 30th January 2012 when all ticket types will go off sale. All tickets will go back on sale at 5pm Monday 30th January 2012 with Weekend tickets increased to 2012 prices. Fans should take advantage of this offer while it lasts!
