The Civil Wars Prepare Release Of 'Barton Hollow' Single & Debut Album

Fresh out of Nashville, The Civil Wars release their single ‘Barton Hollow’, in the UK on March 5th with their debut album, also called ‘Barton Hollow’, released in the UK on the same day.

The band is an enigmatic duo comprised of California-to-Nashville transplant Joy Williams and her Alabaman partner, John Paul White. They are a huge DIY success in the USA having independently sold over 215,000 copies of the ‘Barton Hollow’ album already through touring and word of mouth. The album reached Number One on the iTunes chart in the US to widespread critical acclaim for their music and live shows. Their year in the US has been rounded off by securing two Grammy nominations.

ow building an ever-expanding following in the UK, the band set the ‘Later with Jools’ studio alight recently with their debut UK TV performance of ‘Barton Hollow’ which can be seen below. The haunting music video for ‘Barton Hollow’ can be seen HERE.



Late last year the duo finished a tour with Adele, who personally chose them to support her on both her US and UK tour, saying: “The Civil Wars are by far the BEST live band I have EVER seen.”
