Courtney Love's Drug Addiction Killed Pets, Says Daughter Frances Cobain

Californian rocker Courtney Love’s drug addictions helped kill her daughter’s pets, according to a book written about the troubled singer’s road to sobriety.

Frances Cobain, Love’s 19 year-old daughter, filed a restraining order against her in 2009 and cited her mother’s drug addictions as one of the main causes. Now, author Maer Roshan has written a new e-Book entitled ‘Courtney Comes Clean’, which details a lot of Love’s more turbulent and darker sides – including how both Cobain’s cat and dog died after either ingesting some of her mother’s pills or becoming lost and entangled in piles of rubbish, paperwork and clothes left by her.

She was also quoted as saying: “[Love] has taken drugs for as long as I can remember. She basically exists now on… Xanax, Adderall, Sonata and Abilify, sugar and cigarettes. She rarely eats… She often falls asleep in her bed while she is smoking, and I am constantly worried that she will start a fire (which she has done at least three times) that will threaten our lives.”

In another interview for the book, Frances’ mother Love said: “I'm sober. I'm fabulous. I have a few character defects, but I'm not dishonourable and I'm not a liar. I have a good heart. I've never claimed to be anyone's role model. I'm not Mother Theresa. All I'm trying to do is stay alive.”
