Virtual trip-hop and electronic group Gorillaz, the brainchild of Blur star Damon Albarn and artist Jamie Hewlett, will release a brand new track later this month – for absolutely free.
The new track, entitled ‘DoYaThing’, features superstars Andre 3000, from Outkast, and James Murphy, who used to sing for LCD Soundsystem. It’ll be available for free download on February 23rd, from the official Converse website. Gorillaz will also be bringing out a brand new pair of shoes in collaboration with Converse, and the new track will feature as part of their ‘Three Artists. One Song.’ campaign.
According to Albarn, there’ll also be a 12-minute explicit version of the song which will surface in the near future, while graphics genius Jamie Hewlett is also working on a video for brand new track, which he says will feature two brand new Gorillaz characters – a ‘martial arts baboon’ and a ‘masked topless man’.
Stay with Stereoboard for future Gorillaz news – we’ll post the vide to the track as soon as it’s finished.
