Melvin Benn, organiser and chief of the huge Reading and Leeds Festivals, has told festival fans that they won’t be seeing Guns N Roses at the event in the near future – unless the original line-up was to get back together.
Benn is apparently still upset at Axl and co. turning up over an hour late to the stage as they headlined the event back in 2010, and has promised that he won’t be booking them any time soon – though he admitted that if their original, world-beating line-up reunited, they may have a chance.
“I wouldn't have the current lineup, certainly not at the moment,” Benn told NME. “It doesn't feel right. Of course if it was the original lineup, I would definitely consider it and if they could tell the time, it would be fantastic. With the original lineup it would be something very special.” He then joked: “We'd have to give them all a watch each, but we'd certainly try to get them if they reformed.”
Though there’s no Guns N’ Roses, this year’s Reading and Leeds Festivals boast a strong line-up, with The Cure, The Foo Fighters and Kasabian all lined-up to headline the events. If you want to see a full line-up, click here, or for tickets, check below.
