Psy Responds To Billie Joe Armstrong's 'Herpes Of Music' Comments - By Saying Thank You!

Korean superstar Psy has responded to Green Day frontman Billie Joe Armstrong’s comments that he is the ‘herpes of music’ - but the poor lad hasn’t quite understood what herpes really means!

Armstrong made the comments via Instagram following Psy’s recent single ‘Gentleman’, which was the follow-up to his megahit ‘Gangnam Style’. He wrote: ‘This dude is the herpes of music. Once you think it's gone, it comes back. #herpes #flareup #pleasegoaway.’

Asked by Fuse if he had anything to say in return, Psy confessed that he wasn’t sure what herpes was - and when it was explained to him, he still didn’t quite grasp that he’d been insulted, instead thanking Armstrong for what he seems to believe was a commendation of him not being a one-hit-wonder.

Psy told the site:

“I kinda like it, it's cool. So he's saying I'm like herpes? I should say something to him. What was his name? Billie Joe Armstrong from Green Day, he's saying I'm like herpes, it keeps coming back. I think it's really cool and I appreciate that. Thank you.”

To be fair, we imagine Psy is too busy rolling in money to worry about what another musician has to say about him, but still, we found his response rather humorous. Either way, if you’re a fan of Psy, you can catch him performing at the Capital FM Summertime Ball on June 9th, alongside Robbie Williams, Olly Murs, Taylor Swift, The Wanted, Labrinth, Lawson, Ellie Goulding and more. You can also catch Green Day live in June - they’ll be performing in Emirates Stadium on June 1st. Click here to find tickets for that gig through Stereoboard.
