Lissie has unveiled the video for her new single Further Away (Romance Police).
Directed by up and coming film-maker and personal friend Ben Chappell, the video sees Lissie back in her home town of Rock Island, Illinois, taking a nostalgic trip down memory lane and reliving her early experiences of heartbreak and lost love. She said:
“I wanted to shoot the video at home because that’s where my earliest memories of heartache come from. I wanted someone so bad who didn’t want me back and that experience kind of shaped my approach to relationships for years to come. The song is a cautionary tale to avoid those kinds of heartbreakers so it felt right to go home and revisit that time.”
Released on September 9, ‘Back To Forever’, Lissie’s follow-up to her critically acclaimed 2010 debut ‘Catching a Tiger’ is a collection of frank and beautifully crafted tracks that showcase her captivating voice. The record is produced by Garret “Jacknife” Lee (REM, Bloc Party, Snow Patrol) and was recorded in Topanga Canyon, LA.
This week, Lissie will preview songs from the new album at The Secret Garden Party Festival, followed by performances later this summer at Camp Bestival, V Festival and then finally Bestival on the eve of her album release.
