Thursday, 25 July 2013 Written by Elliott Batte

Sacha Baron Cohen has reportedly pulled out of the upcoming Freddie Mercury biopic - in which he was set to play the Queen frontman - after creative differences reared their head.

According to Deadline, via Uncut, Cohen was hoping that the film would delve into the darker side of Mercury’s life, but Queen want it kept to a relatively family-friendly affair.

Cohen had been pencilled into play Mercury - who died in 1991 - since 2010.
