Kings Of Leon To Host Food And Music Festival In Nashville

Thursday, 15 August 2013 Written by Elliott Batte

Kings of Leon will be putting on a music, food and arts festival in their native Nashville.

Called 'Music City Eats', it sees fun-lovers and festival-goers invited for a two day event on September 21-22, with promise of live bands, live chefs, and live activities.

The band's frontman, Caleb Followill, and his drummer brother Nathan will host the event alongside Kings of Leon managers Ken Levitan and Andy Mendelsohn, and super chef Jonathan Waxman.

There'll even be a 'Petty Fest', which will see a bunch of bands and performers - such as The Black Keys' Patrick Carney, Norah Jones, Emmylou Harris, and of course Kings of Leon, playing the music of Tom Petty as a tribute.

Dining maestro Waxman has said of the festival:

"A few years ago, Caleb Followill quietly slipped into my restaurant Barbuto in New York, and we bonded over food and music, and throughout our many conversations, he kept asking why there wasn't a food and wine festival in his hometown of Nashville.

"We are inviting some truly amazing chefs from around the country, and most importantly, the best chefs and restaurants in Nashville. I am extremely excited by our shindig, and the Kings and I can't wait until September rolls around."
