The Cribs Planning To Release Brace of Albums Next Year

Wakefield trio the Cribs have announced plans to release a brace of albums next year.
The band released their fifth studio album ‘In the Belly of the Brazen Bull’ in 2012, hitting #9 in the UK Album Chart. Keen to keep their fans happy, the band didn’t slow down and went on to release Best Of compilation album ‘Payola’ this year too.
If that wasn’t enough, they’ve lined-up two end of year gigs at Leeds O2 Academy and have now revealed plans to release not one but TWO studio albums in 2014, promising that they’ll be two totally separate LPs and not a double album.
“We're gonna try and do two new records, that's the plan. Not a double album – two separate records, two separate sides to the band. There's one that's going to be really noisy and visceral and immediate, and one that's gonna be more pop. We've been writing for the past month or so and there's definitely an idealistic concept of these two records, which has come from that.”
Adding that they he and his two band-mates were ‘not in a rush’, Gary continued:
“In my mind we'll probably be recording by the beginning of next year. Judging by how we normally work, that's how I see it.”
Interestingly, the news comes not long after recent claims that the Cribs would be entering hiatus, so fans should be over the moon at the news. It’ll also mean that the trio should be showcasing new tracks at their ‘Cribsmas’ Leeds gigs.
