Robbie Williams has landed yet another chart record, becoming the proud owner of the 1000th #1 album in UK history.
Williams picked up the prestigious title after releasing his latest solo record, ‘Swings Both Ways’, last week, outselling Eminem and his ‘The Marshall Mathers LP 2’ to take the #1 spot.
Frank Sinatra was the first to notch up a British #1 with ‘Songs For Swingin' Lovers’ back in 1957, and since then, Williams has managed 11 chart-toppers, drawing him level with Elvis Presley.
He’s also hit the top spot as a member of Take That and recently hinted that he could return to the 'manband' once again. He told Q Magazine:
“I think it will happen at some point. But, y'know, band dynamics and getting five people to agree on something. It's textbook stuff – one member does this, one member does that. 'Oh Jesus, now we've got to wait'. 'Ah well, fuck him,' deh deh deh. I think it will happen, all five of us. It probably will happen once more.”
