Wednesday, 11 June 2014 Written by Huw Baines

Morrissey has cancelled the remainder of his US tour due to illness.

The former Smiths frontman, who will release a new album, ‘World Peace Is None Of Your Business’, on July 14, has been suffering from a respiratory infection picked up in Miami.

A statement posted to Morrissey’s Facebook page continued:

“In the interest of making a full recovery, all further touring plans have been halted. Morrissey thanks his fans for their compassion, understanding, and well-wishes during this difficult period as he recuperates.”

Morrissey has been building up to the release of his new record with a series of spoken word clips. Check out Earth Is The Loneliest Planet, featuring a cameo from Pamela Anderson, below.
